PowerSchool Information

for Parents and Guardians

While Schoology will help parents stay up-to-date with their child’s learning, it is important to note that official grades and attendance will be still be stored in PowerSchool and can be accessed through the parent portal. Having an account for both Schoology and PowerSchool is recommended. Below are directions for creating a PowerSchool account.

To create a new parent portal account, go to https://nscougars.powerschool.com/public/home.html or click the PowerSchool link on our website www.nscougars.com and click on the Parent Portal icon at the top of the page.

On the Create Account tab, you will see these directions:

Create a Parent Account
A parent account allows you to view the information for one or more students with a single sign in. You can also manage your personal account preferences. To create a parent account, enter the following information:

Name – Your first and last name.
Email – Student notifications and correspondence related to your parent account will be sent to this email.
Desired Username – Your username is your unique PowerSchool identity.
Password – Your password must be at least 6 characters long.
Student Access Information – Information for a minimum of one student, including the student name, Access
ID, Access Password, and your relationship to the student. To receive your Student Access Information, please
call your child’s school.

PowerSchool Information

for Students

PowerSchool is where you will find your grades and attendance information.

To access PowerSchool:

Click on the "P" link at the top of this webpage or go to the Student and Parent Sign In (click here).
Type in your username. It should be the first letter of your first name and your full last name (unless you have been told to add a middle initial or another letter, etc.).
Type in your password. This should have been given to you by a staff member at school.
Click "Sign In."

If you have any trouble signing in or any other questions, please ask one of your teachers or someone from your school office.
