Pavilion named for late Shelley Darr

The Community Park Board of Directors, in cooperation with the Boswell Area Jaycees, officially named and dedicated the pavilion at Hemminger Field at the Community Park in Ferrellton in the memory of the late Shelley Darr who passed away one year ago.

Darr served as a Jenner Township supervisor for 12 years and as a Community Park Board member where he spent countless hours and effort in the improvement and upkeep of the Community Park.

He oversaw the construction of the soccer field, managed and assisted with the new fencing placed at the park fields, participated in the Community Days Fund Raiser as the shuttle driver for the canoe trips down Quemahoning Creek and along with Chad Codispoti physically constructed the pavilion at the Hemminger Field location.

The dedication event was held at the recent Boswell Area Jaycees High School Baseball Classic Tournament.
